    Description

    The Tell-Tale Wire (Universal, 1919). Fine+ on Linen. One Sheet (28" X 43.5").
By early 1919, Hoot Gibson had "arrived" as a major star of Western movies. In the prior year of 1918, Gibson had only made six short subjects, but with the sudden increase of his popularity, Universal took advantage of his new-found stardom and launched the rodeo star into nineteen new films. In this B Western, Hoot finds himself working alongside his frequent leading lady Josephine Hill in one of her earliest movies. Professional restoration has addressed edge and fold wear, fold separation, some creases, and pinholes, some of which are torn or enlarged. There are a few tears into the interior, as well as small chips in the borders and folds. There was a partial trim of varying thickness in the borders, which did not affect the printing and has been addressed with airbrushing in the borders. Fine+ on Linen.
