This American cinema classic is widely regarded as one of the greatest Westerns ever made. Directed by John Ford, the film tells the story of a battle-hardened ex-Confederate soldier, played by John Wayne, who becomes obsessed with tracking down the Comanche tribe responsible for massacring his family and kidnapping his young niece. Often imitated but never surpassed, The Searchers features what many consider to be Wayne's finest performance in his favorite role, Ethan Edwards. The cast includes Ford's regulars such as Ward Bond and Harry Carey Jr., alongside Jeffrey Hunter, Vera Miles, and a young Natalie Wood as the kidnapped niece. An interesting casting detail is that Natalie's younger sister, Lana Wood, portrays the younger version of her character. The breathtaking scenery of Monument Valley enhances this stunning poster.
