The Plainsman (Paramount, 1936). Fine- on Linen. One Sheet (27" X 41").
Directed by Cecil B. DeMille and starring Gary Cooper as Wild Bill Hickok and Jean Arthur as Calamity Jane, the film follows Wild Bill Hickok as he attempts to stop a villainous arms dealer from selling rifles to the Sioux. While historically inaccurate, The Plainsman was praised for its stirring action and large-scale battle scenes. Backed to linen, it was largely unrestored other than some minute spots along small fold portions, as such the issues of the poster remain visible, which include small chips or paper loss at the top through the 'J' in Jean going down. Minute chips remain in a few areas in Cooper's face and shirt, and along the edges and corners. There is some lifting from the linen at the bottom border and the linen has been trimmed to the edges of the poster.
