Description

The Phantom of Santa Fe (Burroughs-Tarzan-Enterprise, 1936). One Sheet (27" X 41").
Originally shot in 1931 as The Hawk, this film received very limited release and was then shelved for five years until producer Ashton Dearholt of Burroughs-Tarzan Enterprises bought the rights to it, had it re-recorded and re-edited, had the original Multicolor process finished in Cinecolor, and released it in 1936. The film stars Norman Kerry of Phantom of the Opera (1925) fame and one wonders if the new distributors of the film thought by naming the film this would bring more viewers into the theater! This is a very pretty offset one sheet with a striking color design. There is some minor crossfold separation and some wear to the upper and lower border, and the vertical fold where that fold intersects the borders. Fine+.
