Infamous for its delayed release over censorship issues, Howard Hughes' The Outlaw is the stuff of cinematic legend, making any original release paper for this title strikingly rare. Especially precious is this stunning Style B one sheet, so much so that this is only the second time Heritage has ever had the pleasure of offering it. Showcasing an unbelievably alluring Jane Russell in the role that cemented her Hollywood breakthrough, she reclines, juxtaposed by a tough, gun-toting Jack Buetel directly below her. It is stunning and markedly different from the Style A artwork, which sees an upright Russell in front of a grinning Buetel. Professional restoration, which has employed touchup, airbrushing, and replacement throughout, has addressed edge and fold wear, creases, chips/chipping, tears, paper lifts, stains including tape stain bleedthrough, and some paper loss within Howard Hughes' credit/upper left corner. A few flaws remain slightly visible. A remarkable addition to any cinema lover's collection, this one sheet is a true piece of film history.
