Douglas Fairbanks was just on the cusp of the superstardom he would find throughout the late 1910s and 1920s when he appeared in The Man from Painted Post, which was one of his first starring vehicles that he self-produced. He formed the Douglas Fairbanks Film Corporation after a string of successful films for Artcraft and Triangle, in which he grew into a recognizable and charismatic leading man exercising his talent and physicality across various genres. His Westerns are distinctive in their mixture of eastern U.S. sensibilities, which he brought from his New York stage training, and the style and traditions of the genre that were forming in films with cowboy stars like William S. Hart. Heritage offers for the first time a Swedish one sheet for The Man from Painted Post, which is also the first poster we have offered for this title! The folded poster, which will ship rolled, only shows a few minute tears, light creases, and faint smudges, which is remarkable for a poster that is over a century old.
