    Description

The Light in the Forest by Reynold Brown (Buena Vista, 1958). Original Gouache Poster Artwork (18.5" X 29.5").
This beautiful gouache painting, used in all of this film's domestic advertising, comes from the brush of the legendary poster artist Reynold Brown. Known for his illustrations of 1950s camp horror classics like Creature from the Black Lagoon and Attack of the 50 Foot Woman, Brown provides this Walt Disney picture with a splendid rendering of the film's two stars, big screen newcomers James MacArthur and Carol Lynley. The stunning details and colors found in this piece are an incredible sight to behold in person, revealing a quality that could never be sufficiently captured by any print or poster. No flaws at all affect Brown's touching illustration, with the artwork showing only periphery issues like light edge wear, unobtrusive stains and smudges, and a staple hole in the right background. There are a couple of mild tape stains, and the painting shows some slight toning. Some of these issues may be due to the creative process. An item unlike any other, this illustration would be a perfect addition to any Reynold Brown or Disney collection. The one sheet poster pictured here is not included with the painting. Very Fine-.
