    Description

The Life of Buffalo Bill (Pawnee Bill Film Co., 1912). Three Sheet (42" X 81") Flat Folded.
One of the most lively figures of the Old West, William F. Cody (also known as Buffalo Bill) was a polished showman who sought to not only entertain spectators, but also provide them with an education of the American West. His elaborate traveling show, Buffalo Bill's Wild West and Congress of Rough Riders of the World, included as many as 1,200 performers, among them, at one point, the legendary Sitting Bull. An important and influential celebrity of the early 20th century, Cody later branched into film, starring as himself in self-promoting pictures, including this early three-reeler. Never before offered by Heritage, this stunning stone litho poster, printed in three sections, showcases imagery that defines the Western genre, and includes beautiful renderings of Buffalo Bill with Isham, his favorite horse. In remarkable condition for an unrestored poster of its age, the three sheet shows only minor issues. The upper section has some edge wear with small tears, a small chip and minor foxing in the lower edge, and some paper loss in the lower right border. The other sections are in fantastic condition. Folded, Very Fine.
