Reynold Brown Artwork.This is a spectacular first time offer from Heritage of what is assuredly the most scarce six sheet of the 1960s! If you're a fan of the Duke, this great poster boasting panoramic Reynold Brown artwork is an absolute "must have." John Wayne had wanted to make a version of this epic moment in Texas' history since the 1940s, however, it wasn't until 1960 that his opportunity finally came to fruition. With a soaring score by Dimitri Tiomkin, the film depicted the suicidal stand of a band of Independent Texan revolutionaries against the entire Mexican army. Aside from Wayne himself, who plays Davy Crockett, the all-star cast includes Richard Widmark, Laurence Harvey, Frankie Avalon, and Chill Wills. The US one sheet only pictures a small portion of the Brown artwork wherein this large six sheet poster pictures the entire painting. Signs of usage in this Heritage first include noticeable fold separations, creasing, pinholes, and extra folds. The poster also has tears, some chips, small bits of writing, and mostly unobtrusive stains. There is a tear that has been braced with archival tape on the verso, and the poster is comprised of original panels that have been attached with paper tape on the verso. One of the panels has paper loss at the interior edge that has been spliced with pieces from another original release six sheet.
