The Alamo (United Artists, 1960). Belgian (19.5" X 25.5").John Wayne's version of the epic battle at the Alamo for the independence of Texas was actually filmed in Bracketville, Texas, about a hundred miles from the original site in San Antonio. The beautiful thing about this oversized Belgian poster is that, aside from the U.S. 24 sheet which has never turned up, this is the only poster that shows the entire panorama of the exquisite art that Reynold Brown executed for the original poster campaign. There are pinholes in the corners and borders and an extra vertical crease. There is a strip of museum tape on the reverse. Very Fine.
