Texas Terrors and Other Lot (Republic, 1940). Original Autographed Studio Western Scripts (2) (Multiple Pages) (8.75" X 13" and 8.75" X 11"). Western.
This unique lot contains two original studio scripts from the Hal Taliaferro collection. Taliaferro was a Western cowboy star under the name of Wally Wales until the mid 1930s when he began using a variation of his real name, Hal Taliaferro, for the rest of his career. The first script is from Texas Terrors (1940) starring Don "Red" Barry, Hal Taliaferro, Julie Duncan, Arthur Loft, Eddy Waller, and Ann Pennington. Directed by George Sherman. There are notes in the top left corner of the script cover in Taliaferro's hand. There is also a 5" X 8" handwritten notebook page included with the script where Taliaferro has written his lines from page 13 over and over in a method used by many actors to memorize their dialogue. The second script is from South of Arizona (Columbia, 1938), which starred Charles Starrett, with the original working title Singing Guns on the cover. The cover has been autographed in the top left corner with his and his character name. Taliaferro's lines as "Frank Madison" are underlined in red ink by the actor to aid him in memorization. Unrestored scripts that displays signs of use. May include light edge wear, slight page tears on one page and a missing back cover for South of Arizona. Please see full-color, enlargeable image below for more details. From the Hal Taliaferro Collection. Fine/Very Fine.
