One of the most seminal works of the Western genre, George Stevens's Shane follows a mysterious gunslinger (Alan Ladd) who arrives in a small Wyoming homestead. There he must confront a ruthless rancher threatening the local settlers while forming a bond with a young boy (Brandon De Wilde) and his family. With its rich storytelling and unparalleled cinematography, the film is nothing short of epic, using both elements to explore the resonant themes of innocence, violence, and the struggle between civilization and lawlessness. Restoration has remedied edge and fold wear, pinholes, creases, misfolds, mostly small chips, tears, and ink stain bleedthrough. Additionally, the borders have been replaced and airbrushed to correct trimming.
