Rio Grande (Republic, 1951). Argentinean Poster (29" X 43").
Artist Graziella del Carmen provides the striking image of John Wayne with Maureen O'Hara for John Ford's classic Western. Wayne is a Civil War veteran who unexpectedly reunites with his wife (O'Hara) when his estranged son (Claude Jarman Jr.) transfers to his post, ultimately leading to a bloody climactic battle with the Apaches. The film is considered by many to be the best of Wayne and Ford's "Cavalry Trilogy." The poster had pinholes in the corners, tears and small chips in the upper and lower borders, a chip in the lower left corner slightly into the background, some crossfold separation, and a small hole in "Republic." Touchup work has been done to the folds, and the borders have been airbrushed. Fine/Very Fine on Linen.
