    Description

Nick Adams in "The Rebel" by Gene Trindl (ABC Television, Late 1950s). Autographed Oversized Photo (15.5" X 19.5").
Vintage, black and white, gelatin silver photo. Following his successful supporting role as Chick in Rebel Without a Cause, Nick Adams went on to star in the ABC Western The Rebel. Sadly, his life came to an end in 1968, making his signature exceedingly rare. This piece was most likely inscribed to James W. "Jimmy" Payne, a set decorator on the series for thirty-eight episodes. Payne went on to win an Oscar for his work on The Sting. The photo is mounted on cardstock and displays a bit of wear along the edges. A beautiful inscription which reads, "To Jimmy- A great guy, a great talent, a great personality and a great picture framer. Thanks for doing your part in making The Rebel the best TV show on the air. Your sets and ideas are always "Perfection." Gratefully- Your friend, Nick (The Rebel). It is stamped on the verso with photographer's name and address. Fine/Very Fine on Cardstock.
