    Description

    Cimarron (RKO, 1931). Window Card (14" X 22").
This landmark Western was such an ambitious and expensive production, the posters proclaimed proudly...'THE TALKIES REBORN!" Indeed, for there were 5,000 extras, twenty-eight cameras rolling, and an unbelievable budget of $1.5 million Depression era dollars. It was the first film to receive more than six Oscar nominations, winning three Academy Awards, including being the first Western to win Best Picture. Backed on cardstock, the window card has been restored to address two small tears in the lower border, a tear in the two R's of the title, pinholes in the corners, and horizontal creasing within the image. There is a faint paperclip stain in the lower border; the imprint area, portions of the borders, Dix's right arm, and the "Mightiest Drama of the Ages" dialogue box have been touched up. Professional restoration has this rare poster displaying well. Fine+ on Cardstock.
