    Description

Buffalo Bill Wild West and Sells Floto Circus (Circus Poster, 1926). Circus Poster (20.5" X 27").
Buffalo Bill's Wild West shows made a fortune between their first performance in 1872 and 1913. But Buffalo Bill's bad investments were in play when he borrowed money from Denver businessman Harry Tammen in 1913. Tammen, far shrewder than Bill in business, used the loan leverage, once Bill fell behind on a payment, to have the show "legally" seized when the Wild West show rolled into Denver to do a show. Tammen then forced Buffalo Bill to join the Sells Floto Circus (which Tammen just happened to own). Buffalo Bill would pass away in early 1917 and an entire authentic American entertainment style would pass with him. This unique poster is from ten years later and was printed by the circus as a post mortem souvenir. Only slight edge ear with tiny tears, and a small creasing at the right side edge. Rolled, Fine/Very Fine.
