    Description

A Fistful of Dollars/For a Few Dollars More (Unidis, 1964 & PEA, 1967). Italian Program and Theater Mobile.
This is a very scarce international promotional brochure, with a highly unique provenance. It is from the collection Eduardo Ezio Pizzi, the man in charge of all publicity and press relations for both Jolly Film (Fistful production company) and Unidis (European distributor). You will see his name on the lower right spine of the back cover. Pizzi took the film from pre-production to release, the result being an award winning picture. So hands on was he, that Pizzi conceived the entire publicity launch and the release campaign, along with providing ideas on the design of the promotional pieces. This colorful twelve page brochure features exquisite artwork, poignant scene shots, and commentary in both Italian and English. In attempt to "Americanize" the film to boost initial distribution, the credits list director Sergio Leone as Bob Robertson, and Anglicized the rest of cast as well: Gian Maria Volonte/John Wells, Benito Stefanelli/Benny Reeve, and Bruno Carotenuto/Carol Brown. Also included in this fabulous lot is a rare double-sided mobile from For a Few Dollars More used in Italian theaters. Sergio Leone's bloody follow-up to A Fistful of Dollars once again stars Eastwood as a bounty hunter on the trail of a ruthless, escaped killer, played brilliantly by Gian Maria Volontè. The mobile is in pristine condition and the program shows only a small crease on each page. Very Fine+.
