    Description

    Waterloo Bridge (Universal, 1931). Lobby Card Set of 8 (11" X 14").
Mae Clarke, Kent Douglass and relatively unknown Bette Davis star in the film adaptation of Robert E. Sherwood's award-winning play. Clarke turns in a stellar performance as a down-on-her-luck beauty who in desperation turns to prostitution before meeting the man of her dreams (Douglass). Universal had just signed Davis in 1931 and quickly put her to work in three films, with Waterloo Bridge being the first produced and last of the three to be released. All cards have pinholes and a slight crease in the lower right corner. A few cards have pinholes in the bottom border. The title card has a faint dust shadow, and a minor scuff in the right side. One card has a minor chip in the top left corner while the one Bette Davis card is in excellent shape other than a very tiny chip in the top right corner. It is exceedingly rare to find a total set intact for this early historical film. Very Fine-.
