    Description

World War II Propaganda (War Production Board, 1942). Folded, Very Fine+. Poster (20" X 28.5") "America Needs Your Scrap Rubber." War.
With the need for raw materials increasing dramatically during World War II, the United States government initiated a series of scrap drives to collect materials needed for the production of vehicles, weapons, life-saving items, and more. One of the first major scrap drives was for rubber. Around 450,000 tons of rubber was collected with citizens receiving a penny a pound for their scrap. Offered here is a poster used to promote the scrap rubber drive with just a few examples of the items citizens would be helping to create with their contributions. An unrestored poster with bright color and a clean overall appearance. It may have general signs of use, such as light edge and fold wear, soft creases, minute tears, subtle image ghosting, or faint smudges.
