    Description

World War II Propaganda (U.S. Government Printing Office, 1945). Folded, Very Fine. 7th War Loan Poster (26" X 37") "Now..All Together," C.C. Beall Artwork.
Joe Rosenthal's iconic photograph of U.S. soldiers raising the second American flag on Iwo Jima served as the basis for this patriotic poster. Concerned that bond sales might begin to dwindle after the defeat of Germany, officials commissioned illustrator C.C. Beall (known for comics and book covers) to create a poster for a 7th War Loan subscription that would boost bond sales by appealing to the patriotism of citizens. The poster did just that, as the campaign would help sales soar beyond expectations, bringing in over $150 billion. A magnificent item for any World War II collector, this poster not only depicts a defining moment in American history, but also represents a time when a great number of the country's citizens came together to support a cause. In great condition, the only signs of use are slight edge and fold wear, minor fold separations, minute tears, and soft creases. There is a thin dust shadow along the left edge and a few pieces of paper tape bracing the folds on the verso. Folded, Very Fine.
