World War II Propaganda (Lockheed, 1940s). Silk Screen Poster (28" X 44") "Back the Attack!" War.
During the second World War, the Lockheed plant in Burbank, California produced and displayed silk screened posters in an attempt to boost morale and airplane production. Employees are encouraged to back the war effort by purchasing an extra bond from the third war loan. A rare find, the poster features a striking image of Uncle Sam towering over a battle, directing soldiers where to go. Originally mounted on a board, the poster shows some signs of age, including brittleness, edge wear, creases, tears, paper loss, minor paper lifts, stains, chips in the borders, and light toning.
