    Description

World War II Propaganda (Incentive Division, U.S. Navy Department, Mid-1940s). Folded, Very Fine-. Poster (30" X 40") "Hit Hard! Hit Fast! Hit Often!" John Philip Falter Artwork.
Chief Petty Officer John Philips Falter was among the most prolific poster designers for the U.S. Navy during World War II, creating over 300 pieces of propaganda for various recruitment drives. In this illustration, he portrays the esteemed Admiral William "Bull" Halsey, one of only four people to attain the rank of fleet admiral in U.S. history, spurring on civilian workers with his famous motto, "Hit hard, hit fast, hit often!" Signs of handling in this Heritage first include slight edge and fold wear, mild fold separations, light creases, and minor tears. There are some unobtrusive smudges, a small chip in the top right corner, and a thin dust shadow at the top left edge. Folded, Very Fine-.
