    Description

World War I Propaganda (U.S. Food Administration, 1917). Rolled, Very Fine. WWI Poster No. 21 (14" X 21") "Little Americans Do Your Bit." Cushman Parker Artwork. War.
As the year 1917 brought a world wide food shortage, President Woodrow Wilson appointed Herbert Hoover as head of the Food Administration, and developed a campaign to cut domestic consumption of foods needed overseas and to avoid rationing. As a result, hundreds of posters like this one, featuring the theme "use less and send more food overseas" were produced. The youngest patriots were enlisted to aid the war effort, encouraged to eat oat and corn products and "leave nothing on your plate." An unrestored poster with bright color and a clean overall appearance. It may have general signs of use, such as light edge wear, mild creases, corner bends, small tears, or faint smudges.
