    Description

World War I Propaganda (Edwards & Deutsch Litho Co. Chicago, 1918). Third Liberty Loan Poster (20" X 29.5") "Halt the Hun" Henry Raleigh Artwork.
This dramatic scene of an Allied soldier pushing back his German counterpart (menacing a woman with small child) was one of the great propaganda posters of the WWI era, courtesy of artist Henry Raleigh. A partially restored poster with bright color and a clean overall appearance. Although backed on linen, no touchup has been applied. The poster shows edge wear with small tears, pinholes, mild creases, and a small corner chip. The linen has been trimmed to the border on three sides. A poster graded Very Fine+ may still be on Linen, but this is the highest grade allowed for a poster in this state. Grades on all restored items are pre-restoration grades. Please see full-color, enlargeable image above for more details. Very Fine- on Linen.
