    Description

World War I Propaganda (c. 1917). Fine+ on Linen. French 3rd National Defense Loan Poster (31" X 47.25") "Republique Francaise," René Lelong Artwork. War.
Created by artist René Lelong, this stone litho poster of the French Marianne was part of a campaign with the aim of generating financial support of the government among the French citizenry. A partially restored poster with good color and an overall very presentable appearance. It may have mild edge wear and fold wear, fold separations, pinholes, minor tears and chips, tape stains, and/or toning. Restoration has addressed some of these issues and parts of the borders and background have received touchup. The linen has been trimmed to the border, but not into the poster itself. Grades on all restored items are pre-restoration grades.
