DescriptionWorld War I Propaganda by James Montgomery Flagg (1917-1918). Fine+ on Linen. War Stamp Poster (28.5" X 39.5") "Boys and Girls! You Can Help Your Uncle Sam." A more affordable version of war bonds, War Savings Stamps were another means for the government to voluntary financial support from its citizens. Starting at prices as low as 10¢ and running up to $5, these stamps were often marketed directly at children, as seen in this James Montgomery Flagg illustration. Professional restoration has addressed fold wear and separations, moderate tears at the edges, and some chips. There is an unaddressed paper lift in the right background, and the poster has faint ink offset towards the middle from another poster. Fine+ on Linen.
Estimate: $800 - $1,600.
