Offered is a poster issued by the United States government as part of their Liberty Bonds campaign between 1917 and 1919 to raise money for its involvement in World War I. Artist Leon Alaric Shafer skillfully captures a tense moment at sea in this exciting stone litho image, depicting a German U Boat confronted by an American destroyer escorting a troop transport ship. An unrestored stone litho poster that displays signs of use. May include edge or fold wear, creasing, very minor paper loss, small tears, or unobtrusive stains. Folded, Fine/Very Fine.
