L'Emprunt de la Paix (c.1920). Folded, Very Fine-. French Half Grande (31.25" X 45") "The Peace Loan," Henri Lebasque Artwork. War.
Offered in this lot is a French poster advertising for a peace loan to help aid reconstruction efforts after the destruction that took place in France during World War I. With a serene image of a mother and her children in the foreground of a construction site, artist Henri Lebasque drives home the need for stability and peace in the country once again. An unrestored poster with bright color and a clean overall appearance. It may have general signs of use, such as slight edge and fold wear, small fold separations, mild creases, minor tears, or unobtrusive stains/smudges. There is graphite writing in the bottom right corner, noticeable touchup to the folds, and several strips of plastic tape on the verso.
