DescriptionArmy Recruitment (U.S. Army, 1919). Very Fine on Linen. Poster (18" X 24") "An Education For You, Join the Tanks," 1st Lt. J. P. Wharton Artwork. With the war over and calls for patriotic duty no longer effective for recruitment, the U.S. Army instead chose to attract potential soldiers with the means of a better living, such as training up engineers and mechanics to work on the "Liberty" Tank Mark III seen here. Ironically, the Army would soon undergo a reorganization in 1920, after which most tank units were instead shuffled into the infantry. Although backed on linen, no touchup has been applied to this Heritage first's slight edge wear with minor tears and mild creases. Very Fine on Linen.
Estimate: $1,000 - $2,000.
