    Description

Via Pony Express (Majestic, 1933). One Sheet (27" X 41").
Jack Hoxie races through a desolate landscape on a white steed with his gun held high, as two riders in the background close in. This dazzling poster perfectly captures the feel of 1930s Western cinema. The contrast of orange earth and blue sky makes this a truly striking piece of stone litho art. The poster has been linen mounted with restoration to a replaced upper right corner just into the artwork, a tear from the lower right border through the bottom quadrant of the poster, then up through the rear leg of Hoxie's horse up to the rider on the left side. There was also tape supports removed from the folds which accounts for verso paper lift. The borders have been airbrushed. Fine- on Linen.

    Estimate: $300 - $600.
