DescriptionUp the River (Fox, 1930). Fine+. Window Card (14" X 22").
Humphrey Bogart collectors will certainly want to take notice of this rare piece, as it represents the first time the actor was on a movie poster. In only his third film, Bogart plays Steve Jordan, an ex-con attempting to start anew with his reformed ex-con wife, played by Clare Luce. Spencer Tracy and Warren Hymer join in this fine performance, all of which is directed by John Ford. Signs of handling include mild edge wear, pinholes, some creases, and tears into the interior. The window card has minor paper lifts, a few bits of paint in the left border, faint staining, as well as smudges. There are light surface scuffs, a piece of cellophane tape in the upper border, and several strips of archival tape on the verso.
Estimate: $800 - $1,600.
