    Description

TWA New York Travel Poster (1958). David Klein Full-Bleed Day-Glo Poster (25" X 40") Prop Plane Style.
Illustrator David Klein's (1918-2005) big break came in the 1950s when he began working for Howard Hughes' Trans World Airlines (TWA), creating posters that embodied the spirit of post-war air travel. In this fine example of Klein's work, the Big Apple twinkles and shines brightly with pops of neon colors as a Lockheed L 1049 Super Constellation glides past. This poster is a superb remnant from one of the advertising industry's most transformative eras, and enjoyed so much popularity that TWA reissued this eye-catching image in 1960 with a soaring jet and in 1967 with an "Up, Up and Away!" logo at the bottom. Only offered by Heritage once before, this fantastic poster has edge wear with small tears, a bit of creasing near the edges, and some mild scattered stains. There are a few pieces of cellophane and paper tape on the verso. Rolled, Very Fine-.
