DescriptionTriple Trouble (Essanay, 1918). Very Fine- on Linen. One Sheet (28" X 42").
This hilarious Charlie Chaplin comedy is a meshing of three shorts, with scenes taken from Essanay two-reelers Police and Work, as well as an unfinished Chaplin film, Life. It was actually released two years after Chaplin left the studio to go to Mutual, with director Leo White adding a few scenes to fill out the story. Nevertheless, much of the short is directed by Chaplin and the flop house scenes are pure genius. Chaplin "The Janitor" is featured on this beautiful stone litho one sheet, which once displayed slight edge and fold wear, mild fold separations, a few horizontal creases, and pinholes. There were minor chips within the fold that runs through Chaplin's name, as well as very small chips within the tag "Essanay-Chaplin Brand." The borders have been airbrushed rounding out this poster's skilled conservation. Very Fine- on Linen.
Estimate: $8,000 - $16,000.
