Humphrey Bogart fans will not want to miss this vibrant French grande, featuring a bold illustration by the talented Rene Peron. Famous as the first American film to be shot in post-war Japan, Tokyo Joe tells the story of a man trying to resume his pre-war life in Japan and start up an air freight business. His past catches up with him when he discovers his wife, who he had presumed dead, has remarried, and the US government is determined to interfere in his affairs. There has been light touchup to the folds and to a tear in the upper border.
Estimate: $1,500 - $3,000.
