Tiger Shark (First National, 1932). One Sheet (27" X 41").
Master filmmaker Howard Hawks directs the great Edward G. Robinson in one of his earliest roles in this nautical melodrama. As Mike Mascarenhas, Robinson is a heroic fisherman who saves his best friend's (Richard Arlen) life when he is attacked by a shark, resulting in the loss of Mike's hand. Mike eventually marries young orphan Quita Silva (Zita Johnson, best known for her role in the 1932 classic, The Mummy) and all is well until she falls in love with his rescued friend, and Mike is out for revenge. This love triangle plot of this film was so successful that Warner Brothers reused it several times in different variations. Prior to professional restoration, this gorgeous poster had a corner crease, pinholes in the corners and bottom border, an extra horizontal crease and an extra vertical crease, and a small tear at the left edge. Minor edge wear at the top and light staining are still evident, and the linen has been trimmed to the edge of the poster. This unique stone litho one sheet is one of the rarest Robinson titles to find, and we are proud to offer one in such nice condition, a truly unique prize for fans of the top star! Fine/Very Fine on Linen.
