The Wizard of Oz (MGM, R-1949). Folded, Fine+. One Sheet (27" X 41").
The Wizard of Oz remains one of the most beloved films of all time, and the posters for this title are always in demand. This one sheet is from the film's first reissue in 1949. And while it does depict accurate images of Garland's co-stars, the primary image of Garland at the top is from Meet Me in St. Louis. Apparently, MGM wanted to capitalize on the success of that film to promote the reissue. There are such signs of use as slight fold wear and separations, soft creases, pinholes, and very minor tears. There are unobtrusive smudges, some staining into the interior, and pieces of plastic tape on the front corners with several pieces on the verso.

    Estimate: $800 - $1,600.
