DescriptionThe Thin Man (MGM, 1934). Fine. Lobby Cards (2) (11" X 14").
Originally intended as a simple "B" picture, this exciting comedy-mystery, starring William Powell and Myrna Loy as Nick and Nora Charles, was so successful that it spawned five sequels over the next 13 years. Not only that, but the film also immortalized author Dashiell Hammett's husband and wife sleuthing team as two of history's most famous, and popular, detectives. The cards have some edge wear, creases, and a few tears. The card with William Powell and Maureen O'Sullivan has minute stains, faint toning, a couple of corner chips with splices, a small piece of masking tape on the verso, as well as color fading. The card with O'Sullivan and Minna Gombell displays pinholes, a minor chip, staining, and a few surface scuffs.
Estimate: $600 - $1,200.
