    Description

    The Singing Fool (Warner Brothers, 1927). Pre-War Belgian (24" X 33.5").
Released the same year as The Jazz Singer, this film showed off Warner Brothers' newest technology and helped pave the way for the acceptance of talkies. A massive hit, this picture about a singing waiter (Al Jolson) who becomes a Broadway star grossed more than four million dollars, making it the most successful picture in Warner Brothers' history up to that time. Also, Jolson introduced the song "Sonny Boy" in this film, a tune that would become one of his trademarks. Sold for the first time at Heritage, this poster is in near pristine condition with no touchup applied, showing only some slight creases at the top and a very minor tear in the upper border. Very Fine+ on Linen.

    Estimate: $1,200 - $2,400.
