DescriptionThe Sign of the Cross (Paramount, 1932). Horizontal French Double Grande (61" X 88") Rene Peron Artwork.
Director Cecil B. DeMille found box office success with this biblical epic, an account of early Christians seeking religious freedom in Rome, under Emperor Nero. The film features a fantastic cast, including Fredric March, Charles Laughton, Elissa Landi, and Claudette Colbert. Rene Peron provides the magnificent artwork seen in this fantastic stone litho piece - a Heritage first. Restoration addressed some fold wear, a few tears, and small chips in the borders. There was paper loss in Claudette Colbert's cheek and neck, and the poster still shows a few minor paper lifts at the bottom and some staining at the top and bottom borders. Fine/Very on Linen.
Estimate: $600 - $1,200.
