DescriptionThe Shepherd of the Hills (W.T. Gaskell, 1919). One Sheet (28" X 42.25").
In a rare opportunity not given to many writers, author Harold Bell Wright had the chance to completely control the transformation of his own novel into a big screen Western, acting as a co-director to Louis F. Gottschalk. A compelling story and Wright's first bestseller, the book has been adapted numerous times from page to film, one such remake starring John Wayne in the title role. Making its first appearance at Heritage, this lovely stone litho poster has professional touchup applied to the folds, some tears from the borders into the interior, and a chip in the left border. There was a diagonal tear in the title that has been repaired. Unaddressed issues include edge wear, a few minor bits of paper loss at the edges, and some smaller border tears. Fine/Very Fine on Linen.
Estimate: $1,200 - $2,400.
