Description

The Shanghai Chest (Monogram, 1948). One Sheet (27" X 41").
The Charlie Chan series was one of the most prolific in Hollywood, with three different actors taking on the role of Earl Derr Bigger's Chinese-Hawaiian sleuth. After Sidney Toler's death in 1947, the mantel fell to Roland Winters who would appear as Chan a total of six times. In this outing, he has to find the real killer after a young man is accused of murdering his uncle. The usual comedy relief was performed by Number Two Son (Victor Sen Young) and Mantan Moreland. This poster shows mild edge and fold wear, slight fold separations, light creases, pinholes, and/or small chips and tears in the borders and vertical fold. There is a reattached piece of paper loss from the upper border into the "O" of "Monogram," another in the right side of the upper border in to the background, and there is archival and paper tape on the verso. Folded, Fine+.
