DescriptionThe Seven Year Itch (20th Century Fox, 1955). Half Sheet (22" X 28").
This wonderful film from director Billy Wilder tells the story of a devoted husband (Tom Ewell), alone while his family is on vacation, who finds himself tempted by his attractive next-door neighbor (Marilyn Monroe). As seen on this lovely half sheet, this is the film that features the iconic shot of Monroe standing on a subway grate, the air beneath lifting her skirt seductively around her legs. Professional restoration has addressed border tears, some of which extend into the interior on the right side, including a few in Tom Ewell's image. There was a chip in the right border and background, and the borders have been airbrushed. Fine/Very Fine on Paper.
Estimate: $1,500 - $3,000.
