The Seven Year Itch (20th Century Fox, 1955). Door Panel (20" X 60") B. Adapted from George Axelrod's Broadway play, with Tom Ewell reprising his Broadway role, Billy Wilder's sophisticated and witty film is one of his best. Best known for the definitive performance of the radiant Marilyn Monroe with a little girl's giggly voice (her 23rd film), she portrayed the blonde bombshell known simply as "The Girl." Offered here is perhaps the rarest poster for the film, one of the three door panels originally released for the film. This is panel B and pictures Monroe standing on the subway grate, perhaps one of the most iconic film images of all time. These door panels never appear on the market and this may be the only chance to ever own one. The poster has had touch-up to the corners and borders where there were pinholes and some chipping. There was tape supporting the fold above the title which was removed and restored but now shows slight cracking. The majority of the white field on this poster has been professionally airbrushed and the poster displays very well. This is one you are not likely to see again. Fine- on Linen.
