DescriptionThe Sea Spoilers (Universal, 1936). Fine/Very Fine on Linen. One Sheet (27" X 41").
After churning out low budget Westerns for Monogram and Republic Studios, John Wayne decided to make a move. Trem Carr had become a Vice President at Republic, but was disgruntled with the new company. He and producer Paul Malvern went over to Universal Studios and Wayne followed along as he was offered some better low budget films, none of them Westerns. However, the six Universal films he did for Carr and Malvern, this film being the first, were not successful, nor did they elevate Wayne to higher status. But this gorgeous and rare one sheet has to be on of his finest! There has been touchup to the folds and borders to address pinholes (some of which were in the interior) and tears.
Estimate: $1,000 - $2,000.
