Description

The Sea Hawk (Warner Brothers, 1940). Linen Finish Lobby Card Set of 8 (11" X 14").
Here is the full set of eight lobby cards for one of Errol Flynn's best swashbuckling adventures, once more with the top notch directing of Michael Curtiz. Flynn stars as the adventurous pirate Geoffrey Thorpe, who is hellbent on attacking Spanish ships for the good of England. On one of his forays he encounters Spanish beauty Dona Maria, played by Brenda Marshall, and he falls in love. His many adventures eventually lead back to her and they sail off into the sunset at picture's end. These cards display beautifully after excellent restoration. The title card has had touchup applied to one pinhole each in the left border and Flynn's head, and two tears with creases in the bottom left corner and top border. All of the scene cards had a few pinholes in the borders and background, one card had scratches from the left border into the background, two had a tear from the bottom border into the title, and two cards still show some faint staining in the title area. The title card and three scene cards use to have some corner bends. Fine+.
