DescriptionThe Quiet Man (Republic, 1952). Six Sheet (80" X 80").
John Wayne stars as a boxer who, after accidentally killing a man in the ring, retires to a sleepy Irish village, and quickly falls in love with Maureen O'Hara (well, who could blame him?), but faces trouble when her antagonistic brother insists he court her in the Irish tradition. This salty comedy is director John Ford's love letter to Ireland, and reportedly was one of his favorite films. Offered here is the great-looking unrestored six sheet, which features the same iconic imagery found on most paper for this title. Condition issues include general edge and fold wear, mild fold separations, creases, pinholes, and small tears. There are a few minor chips in the borders and folds, thin dust shadows, and smudging. The poster also shows staining and surface rippling, and there is a piece of archival tape on the verso. Folded, Fine/Very Fine.
Estimate: $500 - $1,000.
