    Description

The Quiet Man (Republic, 1952). Fine- on Linen. Italian 2 - Fogli (39.25" X 55.25") Angelo Cesselon Artwork.
John Wayne stars as a boxer who, after accidentally killing a man in the ring, retires to a sleepy Irish village, and quickly falls in love with Maureen O'Hara (well, who could blame him?), but faces trouble when her antagonistic brother insists he court her in the Irish tradition. This salty comedy is director John Ford's love letter to Ireland, and reportedly was one of his favorite films. Benefitting from professional restoration, this Italian poster no longer shows edge and fold wear, fold separations, creases, and pinholes, including enlarged and torn pinholes. There were chips in the borders and folds, as well as a thin strip of paper loss in the left border. Also repaired were moderate tears, in addition to a complete horizontal tear through John Wayne's hat and Barry Fitzgerald's image. Fine- on Linen.

    Estimate: $1,000 - $2,000.
