DescriptionThe Power and the Glory (Fox, 1933). Very Fine- on Linen. One Sheet (27" X 41"). From the Mike Kaplan Collection.
From a screenplay by Preston Sturges, who later become a very popular director, Spencer Tracy and Colleen Moore star in this tragic drama. Beginning at a man's funeral, his life is told in flashback, as it shows his struggles to become literate and finally more powerful, while losing touch with his supportive wife and family. In her autobiography, Colleen Moore called this her favorite of her own movies and called Spencer Tracy the best actor she ever worked with. This is a lovely stone litho and only the second time Heritage has offered this important poster. There were small border and corner chips, but professional conservation has minimized those instances of wear.
Estimate: $1,000 - $2,000.
