    Description

The Postman Always Rings Twice (MGM, 1946). Folded, Very Fine. Australian Daybill (13.25" X 30").
John Garfield and Lana Turner portray a pair of murderous lovers in this screen adaptation of James Cain's classic novel. This gorgeous Australian daybill depicts Garfield as being the heavy instead of a trapped, adulterous conspirator. Australia's censorship in those days probably dictated that the posters be presented as such. A rare piece hardly ever presented at auction, signs of use found on this daybill include slight edge and fold wear, light creases, and minor fold separations. The poster also has small tears, as well as faint image ghosting. Folded, Very Fine.

    Estimate: $500 - $1,000.
