The Phantom of the West (Mascot, 1931). One Sheets (9) (27" X 41").
Hold onto your Stetsons! Nine of the ten chapter one sheets from Tom Tyler's all-talking serial are available in one lot, with only Chapter 8 missing from this set. In this gun-slingin' horse opera, Tom portrays the son of a murdered man, and when his father's killer escapes jail, the accused killer claims he didn't do it and that the real killer is a masked Phantom. The rest of the serial provides plenty of cliff-hangers as Tom tries to locate the men who do know who the real killer is before the Phantom can kill them off as well. As for condition, it doesn't get any better than this. All of the one sheets are rolled and printed with zinc plate (stone) lithography. Chapter 10 has a slight tear in the left edge and Chapter 3 has a small chip off of the lower left corner. Other than that and the incredibly tiny little edge tears that exist on a few of the sheets, these poster are in unbelievably clean condition. This is a unique opportunity to collect an almost complete run of early serial one sheets. Rolled, Near Mint.
